It takes time to know a man,
A few years..a very small time span.
Those were the eyes
where the story underlies.
The story of an imaginative world,
the story of an unfulfilled smile,
yes that is the story of a boy
..written to be worthwhile….
In the midst of a sand storm, Rahi was searching for a safe shelter. This thirsty, tired little girl was in a peculiar realm. It was crowded with masked girls. They all were laughing on her. They were singing a song. The music was very familiar. It was nothing but a birthday song. Rahi tried, but couldn’t touch any of them. Then she got afraid, because all of those girls were running after her with sharp knives. She fall down and got hurt.
It was Rahi’s birthday. Everyone called and wished. Her hostel mates celebrated it with a big bang. She was happy. But she couldn’t figure out the meaning of the nightmare. She knew that nothing happens without a reason.
So, it is not a story of a boy. It is a fact about a girl.
Rahi waited the whole day for just a phone call. But it never came. She made up different reasons for that all by herself as usual.
Almost same waiting-thing happened for the next four long years.
In every romantic movie or story, Rahi could find a resemblance of her life. And as every such thing she also believed in a happy-lovey-ending.
She might not possibly overcome her old letters-portraits-photographs, but she overcame the thought of having a Love Marriage.
Her beautiful feelings mixed with anxiety made those days more enigmatic. Anxiety, because she had a fear of losing her first love due to the fake secularism of the society. Yes, Mehul , her love, was a Muslim. Rahi had a blended thought when Mehul proposed her. But as everything happens for a reason, Rahi couldn’t fake her feelings for him. She accepted. She fought for her love with all possible logics. She was blessed enough to get supportive parents. Everything was just fine like her favourite romantic movies.
She was not that blessed enough. She found the cause of her heart break very easily. She got to know she was not the only one whom Mehul was committed to. He ruined her innocence, patience and most importantly her trust.
She waited because she was suffering of a proverb; failed hope doesn’t die while dying. But she had no time left to wait. Her parents could not see her wasting four more years. It was all fixed, her Arranged Marriage. She just wished for one thing, a simple registry marriage. It was two weeks’ before her registry marriage. Her father came to her. They talked about emotions and feelings. Suddenly her father told her not to keep any secret into her heart. She shared her still-alive-hidden feelings for Mehul almost after five years. Rahi was in peace after sharing it to her best friend, her father. She was then prepared for her Arranged Marriage.
It was 3rd February, day before her registry marriage. Her father came to her room and wished to talk something very important. It took him only twenty minutes to tell the important thing. Rahi was smiling having tear drops in her eyes.
On 4th February, She got married provisionally with a slight but special alteration. It needed a special marriage act.
Mehul didn’t want Rahi to get complicated and compromising in a conservative Muslim family. So he decided to go away from her life with a solid reason. He set up a plan and worked accordingly. It worked quite well. But his plan was failed by a five-day super plan made by a desperate father who wanted nothing but a smiling face of a girl. He knew that his daughter could make every tough situation smooth with her love and patience. So he arranged his daughter’s marriage.
And this tale ultimately becomes Boy-Girl -Story.
Rahi Said,
‘It doesn’t take time to feel the emotion,
he says…’ It requires a second to move on’..
Those were the silent talks,
some breezy-noisy-crowdy walks,
created the book of surrealism;
defining a co-existing actualism…
Thats the storybook about Mehul,
yet to say a lot ..something beautiful….’
So was it a Love Marriage or Arranged Marriage?
Possibly it could be given the title of Love-Arranged Marriage.
Love is Love and Respect only and so is Marriage, love or arranged.
Love or Arranged??? whatever it may be…. a nice ending of story n beginining of her lyf (again)…….gud one polo…:D
Thanks Sravs…. 🙂
Loved it – The Eternal Romantic Optimist in me was desperately looking for the “Happily Ever After” !
Though in reality the time between a heartbreak and Love’s final return can be over a decade – if not two !
in reality, the situation can be more pathetic than the imagination.
true – yet if your believes are strong.. you get your “Happily Ever After”… eventually !
happy ending… really wanna to end xactly the samee…. everyone happy.. 🙂
may be in reality the percentage of happy endings are unfortunately less… bt ur story is jus perfect dear..
